I know I've put on a few pounds this winter but am trying to deny it. However, Hannah became my reality test the other night as I was putting her to bed: "Babci, you're like a sweet plump strawberry."
Granted, I reminded her of a character in one of her storybooks, an "old woman" with large hips and a kind face.
Mary Poppins on Geritol.

Still... it's a nice thing to be compared to!
Better a sweet plump strawberry than many other things she might have said!
That child will surely be the next generation of writers in this family!
My 4-year-old British niece once said to her 95-year-old great-grandmother: "Nan... you're very, very, very, very, very old." Pause.
"You're going to die soon."
So enjoy being a plump strawberry.
